Hockessin, Delaware

The Goal

Very durable hardwood for big dogs, copper roof on some of the front of the home, curved/arched roof, wood on the interior ceiling, high-end finishes including kitchen cabinets and appliances, high-end master shower, taller baseboard, wider door & window casing, LED lighting throughout, whole-house water filtration system, super efficient home, super quiet home, taller doors (8ft. Door openings), all floor heights in the entire home should be the same, no thresholds.

Looking for a European look with the perfect amount of character added on the outside. High end features on the inside,  a very spacious and open feel, and hardwood that is tough enough to withstand two big German shepherd dogs. Dining room is very important because it will be used very often for family gatherings. A high-end luxurious shower was also high on the priority list.

The Build

Our team started with a European style home with stone and Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS), then added curved roof lines and a few copper mansard roofs on the exterior to give it an added flare. We added a cedar ceiling to the entire great room and a portion of the kitchen. Since the dining room will be used and setup for many different uses, we added multiple recessed micro LEDs that are spread out, so that there would never be an off-centered chandelier with any various table setup. For the master shower, we built a custom tile steam shower with therapeutic pebble stone flooring. To achieve a very open feel in the home, every door is 8 ft. tall, door trim and baseboard is taller than normal, and there are no transition pieces in the flooring of the entire home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475512288415{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/2402-Large1.jpg?id=9662 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]

The Goal

A lot of hardwood throughout the house, high-efficiency, a healthy home, wanted separate zones in different parts of the house for heating and cooling for different people, circular tray ceiling in dining room, high-end finishes including cabinets and appliances, wanted plenty of guest rooms and space for family, custom tile showers, fresh air was very important, all showers to have handheld sprayers, easy handicap accessibility for most areas,LED lighting throughout, whole-house water filtration system.

A very healthy home with an emphasis on healthy air and specific living temperatures throughout the home. Home needed to be handicap accessible in most areas and have minimal maintenance. Wanted plenty of room for family to stay over and a dining room that was unique and elegant, but subtle.

The Build

We added an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), which continuously exchanges the stale air with fresh air in the home. A whole-house water filtration system was also added to ensure all water being used was free of all harmful discharge, chemicals, and pollutants. Custom master tile shower was made to be handicap-accessible and comfortable. Our team created a custom circular tray ceiling in the dining room, along with hardwood in the common areas to get the luxurious feel that the homeowner was looking to achieve.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475514083259{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/JW-302-Large.jpg?id=9304 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]

Sunland Ranch

Milton, Delaware

The Goal

Great room w/ vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, very sturdy floor (ICF floor), custom tile bathrooms w/ wood looking tile, room for multiple seasons (3 season room), central vac system, conditioned crawlspace, 1 story, custom hickory cabinets, vanities that look like furniture, solar panels, zero energy home.

A home with a very sturdy floor, custom tile bathrooms, a room that can be used for multiple seasons, and a central vac for the home. Homeowners like the wood look for flooring but wanted flooring that is low maintenance.  Also looking to have a zero energy home and vanities that look like furniture.

The Build

We used ICF for the exterior walls, as well as the floor of the home. Solar panels were later installed to the home, which resulted in a zero energy home with incredibly sturdy floors. The tile that was used looks like hardwood, giving the homeowners the best of both worlds for the flooring. Our team helped the homeowners choose vanities that looked like furniture and we designed and built a three season room to match the lifestyle of the homeowners.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475516374327{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/K-11-Large1.jpg?id=9683 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]

Lewes, Delaware

The Goal

Wanted a home for newborn and growing family, Big open great room (vaulted ceiling in the great room), hardwood flooring, multi-colored cabinets in the kitchen, big bonus room (bonus room over garage), unique look, rinnai tankless instant water heater, maximum structural strength for high-wind area.

A home with a unique look on the outside that could accommodate their newborn and growing family. Maximum structural strength and noise resistance because of the high-wind area. Also seeking an open floor plan and a kitchen with cabinet colors that were somewhat unique.

The Build

For the exterior, our team designed a contemporary exterior and used blue hardi lap siding, brown hardi shakes, and composite trim. We opened up the great room with a vaulted ceiling, and used two different colors for the kitchen cabinets which were variations of the green and beige used for walls, flooring, and countertop. The ICF resulted in a home that withstands winds up to 250mph and is four times more noise resistant than a wood-framed home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column visibility="hidden-sm" width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475778510200{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/H-2000-Large.jpg?id=9447 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]

Cape Henlopen Drive

Lewes, Delaware

The Goal

High end finishes/cabinets/appliances, nautical theme throughout the house, kitchen on top floor to maximize views of water with open floor plan and plenty of windows, his & hers separate master bathrooms, wanted to finish part of storage area on lower level to turn into recreational room, white wash wood look for hardwood, wanted a 3 season room with views, custom wood backsplash for kitchen, stone around fireplace, wanted to re-finish and use old door from historic local restaurant (barn door for powder room), big sink (country farm sink),  maximum structural strength for high-wind area

Looking to have nautical theme throughout the home, with a kitchen and living room layout that maximizes lighting and the view of the Delaware Bay on the top floor. Interested in having his and hers master bathrooms. Looking to make the most use of the ground floor other than the garage and would like a three-season room. Homeowners have an old door from historic Lewes, Delaware that they would like to use somewhere in the home.

The Build

Custom stairs with beadboard and rope railings give a very nautical theme to this home. Very open kitchen and great room layout overlooking the Delaware Bay with stacked stone on fireplace and  two sliders to maximize sunlight and views on the top floor. Pebble & fishscale tile for her bathroom, and stainless steel theme and porthole style mirror for his bathroom. Three-season room has great views of the wildlife reserve in the rear and side of the home. Our team restored the historic door and used it as a barn door for the bathroom on the top floor.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column visibility="hidden-sm" width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475778789757{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/E-225-Large1.jpg?id=9667 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]

Hockessin Valley Falls 1

Hockessin, Delaware

The Goal

In search of energy efficiency, soundproof, structural integrity, high-end features, low maintenance and low maintenance features, wanted 10 ft. ceilings, 8 ft. doors, theatre room, large master bathroom w/ large walk-in closet, unfinished basement, a lot of tile in the home, wanted to protect himself in case he ever lost power (whole-house generator), LED lighting throughout, whole-house water filtration system.

Looking for the ultimate in energy efficiency, structural integrity, and comfort. Since it will be their permanent and last home they live in, it should require very minimal maintenance. Wanted a very open and contemporary feeling, along with high-end appliances and other features that give a very clean look. Need to protect themselves in case there is ever power outage.

The Build

Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS) and stone on the exterior of home minimize any exterior maintenance. Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, along with white cabinets, trey ceilings, and a custom LED coffered ceiling all add a very contemporary feeling to this home. 10 ft. ceilings and 8 ft.  doors were also used to add extra space to this open floor plan.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2" css=".vc_custom_1475779198552{background-image: url(https://demo.excelbuilders.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/B-202-Large.jpg?id=9271 !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section speed_factor="4" padding_top="80" padding_bottom="40" sidebar="Custom Homes Sidebar" first_page="true" last_page="true"][vc_column][vc_column_text align="center" el_class="project-skills-content"]
