We worked with Steve and his team to update the entire exterior of our beach home including installing a new deck/ siding and trim. The project was very extensive and it took 3 months to complete. Steve and his foreman communicated constantly and effectively. I live 3 hours from the project and so it was important to have a responsible and communicative team on site. Steve was always available and always answered his phone. He did not shy away from bad news, he explained the issue(s) and he always had two or three solutions. They hit their deadlines and the quality of their work was outstanding. He continues to follow up after the work has been completed and he has been paid. He wants a happy customer and they take pride in their work product.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I started working with Steve Doyle of Excel Builders in the spring of 2023 after seeing his work on a screened in porch in my neighborhood. In 4 days last week his crew, headed by Ernesto, completed the tear off and rebuild adding a rail system to bring this 2nd level porch up to code. He always returned calls and didn’t text or email. He took care of the city permits and fit the job in around my houseguests. The crew arrived at 8am and left at 5, sometimes worked in extreme heat and smoke. Each night the work site was cleaned up. They were pleasant, very hard workers, and skilled carpenters. I am pleased to be able to recommend Excel Builders!

Steve and Vic did an excellent job installing Ipe deck boards here in Bethany Beach. They were quick to highlight any issues that may cause concerns later on and were very helpful to get those sorted before finishing. The new deck looks amazing and Steve was in constant contact throughout the project. Would recommend for roofing and decking projects.

Excel did an over the top job on our new garage addition. The materials used were top notch. My new room above the garage is beautiful and so is the bathroom. Looks like something out of a design magazine. The workmanship was excellent and Steve and others were great to work with. I’m a happy gal!

We’ve used Excel three times in the past five years for a full kitchen remodeling, a renovation of an attic into a fourth bedroom with dormer windows on both sides of the roof added, and most recently, to have the floor in our sunroom raised and tiled. They have an excellent project manager (Vic) who is very conscientious and thorough, as well as doing a lot of the work himself, and they hire very good subcontractors.
